About the role:
- Play a key role in delivering specialised property services, providing technical, paralegal and administrative support to Council’s Property & Legal Team.
- Manage a diverse portfolio of property matters, including Council-owned residential properties, leases and licences, and statutory land acquisitions.
- Lead the implementation of addressing functions, including house numbering and road naming, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and legislation.
- Undertake road status investigations and land classification activities to support informed decision-making and effective asset management.
- Coordinate statutory actions and property dealings relating to roads and land, helping deliver positive outcomes for Council and the community.

We are seeking:
- Qualifications in property, law, valuation, land economics, commerce, project management, or equivalent experience working within the property sector.
- Demonstrated experience managing property portfolios, including leases, licences and other property-related assets within a government environment.
- Sound knowledge of property law and legal documentation, including contracts, leases, licences, land title matters and subdivision processes.
- Proven experience in property acquisitions and disposals, including compulsory acquisitions and the delivery of statutory property transactions.
- Strong understanding of legislation, policies and emerging issues relevant to local government property management and land administration.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to resolve complex land title issues and provide expert advice to a diverse range of audiences.

This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
