Be at the heart of Council operations, providing dynamic administrative, events and clerical support across a variety of business units. This fast-paced role offers the opportunity to coordinate key business processes, manage essential systems and help drive the smooth delivery of services that support the community.

About the role:

  • Provide high-quality administrative support to the business unit, including preparing correspondence, managing documentation and maintaining accurate records across Council systems.
  • Act as a key point of contact for staff, customers and external stakeholders, responding to enquiries and providing information related to land-based and strategic planning matters.
  • Assist with financial and budget administration, including monitoring cost recovery activities, processing invoices and payments, and supporting project financial tracking.
  • Coordinate and organise workshops, meetings, events and appointments, ensuring smooth communication and engagement with internal and external participants.
  • Support contract administration, procurement activities and records management processes while contributing to the efficient delivery of projects and business unit operations.

    This rate includes the 2026 Award increase, which is effective from pay week ending 10 July 2026

We are seeking:

  • A motivated administrative professional with relevant qualifications, tertiary studies or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn and utilise a range of contemporary business systems and applications.
  • Demonstrated experience providing high-level administrative support and assistance to professional officers across a variety of functions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • A highly organised team player with proven ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accuracy and contribute positively within a collaborative work environment.

Where it's located:

This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
