About the role:
- Lead a skilled and passionate team delivering programs that strengthen community wellbeing, inclusion and resilience.
- Lead community development programs and partnerships that influence Council planning, service delivery and community wellbeing outcomes across the Tweed.
- Build strong partnerships with community organisations, government agencies and local stakeholders.
- Influence strategic decision-making and represent Council on high-profile community forums, committees and funding programs.
- Play a key role in shaping a connected, vibrant and participatory community through engagement, volunteering, advisory committee support and place-based initiatives.

We are seeking:
- Hold tertiary qualifications in community development, social sciences, social planning, human services, management, or a related discipline, or bring equivalent experience in a community development or social impact setting.
- Be an experienced people leader with a proven ability to build high-performing, accountable and values-driven teams.
- Demonstrate strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work collaboratively with community organisations, government agencies, volunteers and diverse community groups.
- Have sound judgement, political awareness and cultural sensitivity, with experience navigating complex community issues in sensitive or challenging environments.
- Bring experience in program governance, funding, budgeting and performance reporting, underpinned by excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Support community resilience through the team's contribution to emergency response, relief and recovery activities

Where it's located:
This position is based in Murwillumbah, and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
