About the Role

We are seeking a Planning Systems Improvement Analyst who will play a key role in driving continuous improvement and innovation within the Development and Regulation directorate at the City of Ryde. The individual in this role will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to contribute to the improvement and delivery of efficient services in the planning, assessment and building space.

A key aspect of this role will be to work alongside stakeholders to improve understanding and navigation of State and Council’s planning controls, codes, policies and procedures. This role also involves providing specialist information on improvements in planning systems and applications to keep pace with industry trends, with a strong emphasis on utilising development insights data as an evidence base. You will contribute to the selection and maintenance of appropriate digital tools and provide timely second-level IT support when required.

The role also involves reporting on council key performance indicators, particularly in relation to state government mandated requirements, such as the provision of new dwellings in the local government area.

 

About You

You are someone that has a strong background working in the planning and Development Application space, ideally with experience working on business improvements and multi-disciplinary projects that focus on improving planning outcomes. This background has provided you with exposure to the various fields that are intertwined in a planning and development assessment process such as development engineering, landscape architecture, heritage and BCA compliance. It is advantageous if you have a thorough understanding of how development data can be utilised to inform planning systems improvement.

In addition, you will also have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or equivalent
  • Proven experience working on projects with vendors
  • Understanding of Development Applications, Strategic Planning and Policy Reforms.
  • Experience in preparing reports for senior management regarding development issues
  • Ability to work in a team in a face paced work environment

Your commencing annual salary will range from $108,604.71 to $141,186.12 + Superannuation dependent on your experience and qualifications.
