You will provide specialist horticultural/landscape/environmental assessment advice in accordance with relevant environmental planning instruments and legislation to applicants and Council assessment staff to contribute to sustainable best practices outcomes for development proposals. Provide expert advice and participate in compliance and legal proceedings. Fast paced position that is responsible for maintaining and improving landscapes in sensitive Blue Mountains vegetation communities and habitats.
You will be a dynamic team player, be organized with strong skills and qualifications from fields such as landscape design/architecture; horticulture; conservation and land management; and environmental management. Working knowledge of relevant NSW legislation and competency in plant identification. Clear communication, competent word processing and report writing skills. Ability to manage competing deadlines and navigate conflicting matters. Knowledge of Blue Mountains environment, weed control techniques and local government experience will be highly regarded.
Remuneration: base salary commencing at $83,181 gross per annum
+ 12% superannuation
+ performance payment 1% - 3.5% annual salary
+ annual award increase
