THE JOB
We have an opportunity for a person with a passion for road safety to join our team as a Road Safety Officer. In this role you will identify, develop and deliver community and educational road safety initiatives aligned with NSW and Federal road safety strategies.
The Road Safety Officer will engage with internal and external parties including community stakeholders, community groups, local health district, NSW Police Force and local businesses and form a network for sponsors, community voices and supporting agencies contributing to better road safety outcomes over the long term.
The successful person will ideally have tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through experience. You will be able to represent Council competently to other government agencies and the public with well-developed written and oral communication skills. If you don’t have prior experience in a road safety role but have a passion for road safety and you have transferable skills we would love to hear from you.

THE LOCATION
Snowy Valleys Council is a scenic and heritage rich local government area in the South-West Slopes region of New South Wales which spans 8959km2 with approximately 15,000 residents living in a number of vibrant and unique towns, villages and rural properties. CONDITIONS
· Permanent, part-time position working 45 hours / fortnight.
· Salary of $1962.77 - $2209.11 per fortnight based on qualifications skills and experience.
· Vehicle available on a commuter use arrangement.
· 12% superannuation.
· Flexible working options available.
· Generous leave entitlements including access to long service leave after 5 years
