We’re seeking an experienced and motivated leader to head up our Water Management & Treatment operations across the MidCoast region. As Manager Water Management & Treatment (WMAT), you’ll provide strategic leadership to ensure the safe, reliable and sustainable delivery of water and sewer services to our community.
In this role you’ll oversee the operation and maintenance of our water sources, water treatment, sewerage treatment, effluent and sludge management systems and a section of our large water and sewer reticulation. You’ll lead a highly skilled team, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, optimising plant performance, and delivering services that meet agreed levels of service. You’ll also play a key role in innovation, continuous improvement, and shaping Council’s long-term water and sewer strategy.
We’re looking for someone with proven senior management experience in the water and sewerage industry, who brings both technical expertise and strong people leadership skills. You’ll be confident engaging with regulators, internal stakeholders and the community, with the ability to drive collaboration and build trust. Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and a focus on innovation and cultural development will see you succeed in this role.

A Total Remuneration Package between -$197,000 and $233,000 per annum will be offered, inclusive of base salary ($159,218 – $190,056 per annum), a 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance, $12,000 car allowance, and 12% superannuation. The final package will be negotiated commensurate with the skills, experience, and qualifications of the successful candidate.
Additionally, a vehicle arrangement will be made with the successful candidate for this role. Council will provide you with a leaseback vehicle for an annual fee calculated as 20% of the gross purchase price. This is a fully maintained vehicle for both business and full private use with no additional expenses in normal use.

Location: This position will be based from our Administration Centre in Taree, however you may also be required to work from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure: Permanent, Full Time, 35 hours per week.
