Urban Tree & Landscape Officer
SALARY: $91,272 - $104,567 per annum + Super + Leaseback
Work Type: Temporary Full Time up to 30 June 2026

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate specialist to be part of the team working to deliver a healthy urban forest in Camden. The role encompasses the management and maintenance of both public and private trees while working towards building and enhancing canopy cover.
To be successful you will need appropriate qualifications and proven experience in reviewing and responding to customer requests and reviewing development and tree permit applications while maintaining a strong customer focus.

Essential:
- Tertiary qualifications in Arboriculture (minimum Certificate V) and Horticulture with demonstrated experience working in a similar role.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret vegetation assessments, landscape plans and other plans associated with development applications.
- Experience in the assessment and processing of Tree Permits and development application referrals.
- Broad Understanding of relevant tree and vegetation project legislation eg. Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, and State Environmental Planning Policy (Biodiversity and Conservation) 2021.
- Project management skills, including organisation and time management.
- High level of written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in actioning customer requests and preparing customer responses and work orders.
Desirable:
- Experience in capturing and programming tasks and requests for planned works in an online system.
- Understanding of local government procedures and statutory requirements.
- Experience with Asset Management Software.
- Experience in using GIS.
