Employment Status Permanent, full-time
Employment Arrangement 35 hours per week with access to Council’s Agile Work Policy
Salary Range Commencing from $68,668.60 (Grade 9, step 1) plus 11.5% superannuation.The successful candidate will have access to step increases based on competency assessment and tenure within the position.
About the Role
The position is responsible for assisting the Building Facilities team in implementing the approved capital works and maintenance programs for Council's buildings and facilities in an efficient and effective manner.
The position is associated with the use of acquired skills in a trade’s positions such as carpentry, mechanical, plumbing and drainage,with the applicant having potentially been qualified through an apprenticeship satisfying the requirements of TAFE or Apprenticeship Authorities in the chosen trade.
The position is responsible for applying expertise in the relevant trade to a variety of tasks, ensuring all work complies with regulations, standards, and manufacturer specifications or project plans.
About You
- Extensive experience in the application of acquired trade skills.
- Hold TAFE or other industry qualification relevant to the position.
- Effective oral interpersonal communications skills including demonstrated ability in managing conflict and dealing with difficult customers.
- Basic organisational and planning skills together with the ability to prioritise work to meet the demands of the position within competing timeframes.
- Ability to work in a team environment and individually under limited supervision.
- Possess and maintain a level of physical fitness sufficient to undertake the activities of the role.
- Demonstrated commitment to a self-directed work environment and ability to take initiative to ensure gainful and productive work for each working day.
- Ability to work in a team environment in a cooperative and positive manner.
- Basic computing skills with Microsoft Office.
- Certificate for General Construction Induction (CIC – White Card) NSW.
- Hold a trade licenced qualification related to the work performed. (Desirable)
- Experience in the painting trade. (Desirable)
