FIND PURPOSE AND IMPACT
The Water Sewer Quality Specialist is responsible for co-ordinating the development and the on-going maintenance of the risk based drinking water management system and wastewater management system in accordance with relevant legislation and Council policies, to protect public health and the environment. This role provides technical assistance to meet compliance with water and sewer operations to meet legislative requirements.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Coordinating and undertaking sampling, advanced analysis and monitoring of water supply and sewerage systems
- Ensuring the development and implementation of sound environmental, quality and risk management strategies
- Undertaking investigations, reporting, reviews and auditing as required
- Utilising and maintaining smart integrated data platforms, online water quality monitoring network platforms, computerised databases and web-based programs
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
You are an Environmental Science professional, with demonstrated experience in Water and Sewerage systems. Your advanced analytical skills, attention to detail, and accuracy in dealing with data, including the ability to interpret data and communicate results, are an asset.
You have strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience in leading and facilitating good teamwork. Additionally, you have excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate, consult and provide advice. You are a team player who continually shows positive leadership and looks for positive ways to contribute to team culture.
To thrive in this role, you will need:
- Degree in Environmental Science, process, chemical or engineering related field OR demonstrated equivalent qualifications and relevant extensive experience.
- Current Class C Drivers Licence.
- Significant experience in a similar role (utilities industry experience advantageous).
- Demonstrated experience in a regulated environment.
- Advanced experience in the preparation of non-standard reports and correspondence.
- Advanced analytical skills including the ability to interpret data and communicate results
We would also love if you have:
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes and reticulation systems.
- Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in dealing with data.

Attractive annual salary ranging from $99,817 to $116,004 inclusive of market allowance is on offer.
