Find purpose and impact
As our Waste Attendant, you’ll make an impact by playing an essential, hands-on role in keeping the Dubbo region clean and enjoyable for all. As our Waste Attendant you'll have the opportunity to be at the leading edge of waste and recycling whilst we transition away from the old school landfill mentality towards resource recovery and circular economy initiatives. You'll work with an experienced team whose passion is ensuring the best for our environment and operate state of the art equipment. Working across all aspects of the waste facility, including the weighbridge, every day will be different bringing its own set of experiences and positive challenges.
You’ll make an impact by
- Undertaking waste classification in line with best practice to ensure positive environmental, social and financial outcomes.
- Providing a positive customer experience.
- Diverting waste material away from landfill through the effective packaging and processing of waste material for recycling or treatment.
- Competently and optimally operating heavy plant such as Loader, Compactor, Forklift, Skid Steer, Hook Lift, Truck, Watercart.
What you'll bring
To thrive in this role, you will need:

Plant operator competence in loader, compactor, forklift, bobcat and/or other plant operation applicable to landfill operations including mechanical aptitude.
- Class MR Drivers Licence (obtain class HR Drivers Licence within probation period).
- Current “DrumMUSTER” inspector competency or willingness to obtain.
- Certificate III in Waste Management or willingness to obtain within 2-year period.
- General administrative skills demonstrating a competent level of literacy, numeracy, basic computer skills and cashier work.
- Good customer service and verbal communication skills.
We would also love you to have:

Work related experience in Waste Management, Civil and/or Quarry Operations.

Knowledge of Dubbo Regional Council geography.

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $57,826 to $76,484 (dependent on qualifications).
