Team Civic Space Maintenance
Employment Status Permanent, full-time
Employment Arrangement 35 hours per week with access to Council’s Agile Work Policy
Salary Range Commencing from $61,370.40 (Grade 6, Step 1) plus 11.5% Superannuation. The successful candidate will have access to step increases for the grade based on competency assessment and tenure within the position.

Strathfield Council (Council) is a medium sized Council located in Sydney’s Inner West. The area of the Council comprises approximately 14 square kilometres and has an estimated population of 46,000 residents, which is growing at 2.5-3% annually. Based on NSW Government projections, the population will increase to over 80,000 by 2036.
About the Role
Strathfield Council has a great opportunity for a Cleansing Services Officer to join our Civic Space Maintenance team on a permanent, full-time basis.
The purpose of this role is participate in tasks relating to the Civic Maintenance Team and assist in enforcing a range of regulations and legislation to improve the amenities and facilities within the local government area. About You
- Current Class MR Driver Licence
- Current and valid Excavator and skid steer/front end loader tickets
- Traffic Control Certificates
- AQF 3 chemical accreditation
- Proven capacity to work in a team environment, able to work co-operatively as part of a team and independently without close supervision.
- Have and maintain a level of physical fitness to carry out the demands of the role
- Basic organisational and planning skills together with the ability to prioritise work to meet the demands of the position within competing timeframes
- Ability to identify and implement creative solutions and improvements in the operational activities
- Effective oral and interpersonal communication skills including demonstrated ability in managing conflict and dealing with difficult customers
- Basic skills in the operation of a personal computer including Microsoft Office applications for Word and Excel as well as electronic document management systems
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to quality customer service
