Position Type  
Temporary full time up to 2 years. 

Salary 
$97,075 to $108,637 per annum (based on 70 hours per fortnight), plus superannuation, and a 9-day fortnight. Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications and experience.

About the role 
The Waste Project Officer – Food Recycling will contribute to the implementation of Council’s new food recycling service that will commence in July 2027.  This new role will play an important part in the significant step-change to Council’s waste and recycling services. 

Position requirements 

About you 
You will have tertiary degree qualifications in environmental, sustainability or natural resource management or deemed equivalent experience.  A sound working knowledge of local government waste management and resource recovery and the ability to contribute to strategic activities is required for this role. You will have experience in project management, community engagement, education and communications and the ability to develop a broad range of collateral and support materials. 
A high level of self-drive, initiative and ability to achieve desired results, individually and within a team-based environment, to established timeframes, budget and quality standards is required. You will be able to manage competing priorities and manage multiple projects while delivering core activities.
