Salary Range:
- Base Salary: From $68,159.00 (Grade 8, Step 1) per annum
- Allowance: Level 1 Adverse Working Conditions- $1,013.48
- Plus: 12% superannuation
- Total Package: $77,474.00 per annum
The successful candidate will have access to step increases for the grade based on competency assessment and tenure within this position.

The Opportunity
Strathfield Council is seeking a motivated Stormwater Maintenance Team Leader to join our Civil Works team. You will lead the stormwater maintenance crew, plan and coordinate daily tasks, oversee inspections and repairs, and ensure all work is safe, compliant, and high quality.
You will foster a positive team culture, provide coaching, and liaise with internal teams, contractors, and the community to ensure smooth operations. This hands-on role allows you to make a real difference to the safety, liveability, and growth of the Strathfield community.

Essential Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in the supervision and leadership of small teams.
- Demonstrated high level of organisational skills to manage multiple tasks, exercise initiative and meet deadlines.
- Year 12 higher school certificate or above or equivalent specialist skills.
- Experience in concreting and general labouring including but not limited to concrete finishing, paving, road works, asphalting and drainage works.
- Ability to carry out labouring work and to apply multi-skilling in the workplace.
- Ability to communicate to a level that enables the accurate interpretation of instructions.
- Ability to work in a team environment and individually under limited supervision.
- Effective communication skills both orally and written.
- A current Class MR Driver’s License.
- Traffic Control Work – Implement Traffic Control Plans and Traffic Controller.
- Certificate for General Construction Induction (CIC – White Card) NSW.
- Understanding of and commitment to quality customer service.
Desirable
- Experience in driving and operation of a road sweeper.
- Experience in operation of Backhoe, Skid Steer and Roller.
- Hold a valid First Aid certificate.
