We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Owner to manage and prioritise a transparent transformation product backlog that will define a range of process improvement and system optimisation and implementation initiatives
About Rous
Our new site will bring together all Council operations under one roof, creating a dynamic, collaborative, and future-focused workplace. Located on a spacious 71-hectare site, the facility has been designed with staff wellbeing, sustainability, and operational excellence in mind. Rous has an operational footprint covering 3,000km2. As a county council, we are responsible for providing three specific functions; bulk water supply, weed biosecurity and flood mitigation.

Your value proposition to us:
- Demonstrated experience in Agile / Scrum methodology with experience managing a product backlog
- Demonstrated skills and experience in Business Analysis to identify problems and opportunities including knowledge of related industry frameworks, modelling notations, analysis methods and project methodologies
- Experience with business process management tools and techniques
- Demonstrated experience working with multi-disciplinary teams at all levels of an organisation to effect change and deliver outcomes and working with technology vendors
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills with high-level attention to detail and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders to facilitate business improvements
- Proven ability to work autonomously, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Your average workday will be kept busy by:
- Lead and coordinate the planning and delivery of digital initiatives, including gathering business requirements, designing processes, working with vendors to deliver new or optimised systems and delivering associated change management activities
- Utilise best practice tools and methodologies such as Scrum, Lean and BPMN and embed agile practices across the program and educate Council on Agile
- Respectfully challenge the status quo and working to future proof council through embedding a process orientated continuous improvement culture
- Act as product/backlog owner, working with the business to prioritise initiatives that maximise value.
- Work with senior stakeholders to develop and evolve Council’s transformation vision and priorities and transform them into an executable backlog. Including, identifying product and resourcing gaps and solutions to solve for those gaps.
