The Coordinator, Ranger Services is responsible for day to day operational management of the Ranger Team Leaders and a team of enforcement professionals related to parking, unattended property and companion animals to ensure compliance with council regulations and policies, whilst promoting a positive team culture that fosters collaboration, accountability, and community safety.

$107,749 to $120,258 per annum (based on 70 hours per fortnight), plus superannuation, and a 9 day fortnight. Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications and experience. A leaseback vehicle is available for this position.

Reporting to the Manager of Regulatory Services, the Coordinator Ranger Services is responsible for leading a team of enforcement professionals related to parking, traffic, unattended property and companion animals to ensure compliance with state and local regulations and policies, whilst promoting a positive team culture that fosters collaboration, accountability, and community safety.
The position’s leadership and expertise will contribute to the overall success of Hornsby Shire Council in delivering high-quality services across the Shire, in order to protect our environment and ensure a safe and healthy community
Position requirements
- Relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated extensive experience in regulatory enforcement and leading, motivating and inspiring a team to achieve high performance.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and policies related to enforcement activities, or a demonstrated ability to develop this knowledge quickly.
- Current Class C (minimum) Driver’s Licence.
About you
You are a proactive and enthusiastic leader with exceptional organisational skills and proven experience in regulatory enforcement. You possess extensive knowledge of key legislation, including the Road Rules 2014, Public Spaces (Unattended Property) Act 2021, Companion Animals Act 1998, and Local Government Act 1993.
You will also have strong communication, and problem-solving abilities, excel at motivating teams and contributing to a positive workplace culture, have ability to resolve complex issues, and provide outstanding customer service.
