Urban Services Operator / Pool Attendant - Baradine

Warrumbungle Shire Council Full Time Permanent 14/01/2026

Starting Salary: Varies - Pool Season: $1,377 / Off-Season: $1,136 per 38 hour week + superannuation

Looking for a varied, community-focused role that combines outdoor work with public safety and customer service? The Urban Services Operator / Pool Attendant is a unique dual-role position that provides year-round support to the Baradine community. During the swimming season, you’ll be at the heart of pool operations—ensuring a safe, enjoyable and welcoming environment for all patrons. Outside the pool season, you’ll contribute to maintaining the town’s parks, streetscapes and public facilities.

In the pool season, your primary focus will be lifeguarding and pool operations. You’ll provide vigilant supervision of patrons, enforce pool rules, respond calmly to emergencies, and deliver friendly customer service. You’ll also assist with water quality testing, basic plant operations, cleaning and presentation of facilities, and support community programs and events. Your professionalism and awareness will help ensure the pool remains a safe and enjoyable space for everyone.

During the off-season, you’ll transition into an Urban Services Operator role, working outdoors to maintain parks, gardens, recreational areas and community facilities. This includes mowing, gardening, minor repairs, operating small plant and equipment, cleaning public amenities and assisting with maintenance programs. You’ll take pride in keeping public spaces clean, safe and attractive while engaging courteously with residents and visitors.

This role suits a reliable, adaptable and safety-conscious person who enjoys variety, teamwork and serving the community. You’ll be calm under pressure, comfortable working across changing seasonal demands, and committed to high standards of safety and presentation. A valid driver’s license, White Card, willingness to obtain relevant certifications (such as chainsaw operation, chemical application, pool lifeguard qualifications, Working with Children Check and first aid), and willingness to participate in a roster for weekend overtime cleaning public toilets are essential.

If you’re looking for meaningful local work with real community impact, this could be the perfect fit.

This position is located in Baradine, a welcoming rural town located on the edge of the beautiful Pilliga Forest offering a unique blend of natural wonder, rich Indigenous heritage, and strong community spirit. Known for its relaxed lifestyle and friendly atmosphere, Baradine provides essential services, local schools, and great opportunities for outdoor adventure, including bushwalking, birdwatching, and exploring the iconic Sculptures in the Scrub. With affordable living and a strong sense of connection among residents, Baradine is an ideal place to live and work for those seeking a quieter, nature-connected lifestyle in a supportive rural setting.
