$77,500 to $104,459 per annum (based on 70 hours per fortnight), plus superannuation and a 9 day fortnight. Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications and experience. Leaseback vehicle will be offered

About the role

This team ensures reliable urban tree management for the community, with an emphasis on efficiency for customer service requests, tree applications and assessment of development applications, and effectively enforcing Council's Tree Preservation Measures and its related policies. Reporting to the Tree Management Coordinator, you will provide accurate and effective technical assessment and recommendations relating to tree management and public risk matters and have an understanding of Australian Standards AS 4970-2009 Protection of trees on development sites and AS 4373-2007 pruning of amenity trees.

Position requirements

To be successful in this role you'll have a

  • Diploma in Arboriculture (AQF5)
  • Demonstrated experience in arboricultural techniques including tree assessment within a public service environment.
  • C Class License
  • A white card (or general construction induction card).

About you

You will be a team player, with excellent written and oral communication skills. You will be able to read and interpret policy and legislation relating to the management of urban canopy. This role requires an individual who can manage all aspect of tree management (including customer enquiries) within a designated area in Hornsby shire.
