POSITION VACANT CASUAL TOURIST OFFICER

The Council is seeking applications from suitably qualified and/or experienced staff to meet Council's operational plan requirements for the position of Casual Tourist Officer - Visitor Information Centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide courteous, timely and accurate information in response to either, in person, counter or telephone enquiries, principally.
- Present visitor information in an organised manner, ensuring information is relevant and up to date.
- Assist with sale of Visitor Information Centre products including local produce, art and souvenirs. Operate payment technology, EFTPOS etc.
- Balance daily takings, ensure security, record discrepancies. Close down systems and activate security protocols.
- Receive deliveries and consignments, notifying consignee of arrival, if applicable, receipt and process, following procedure.
- Record complaints, if any, and advise the Centre Supervisor for actioning.
- Record visitor requests and demographics and collate results for inclusion in the monthly report.
- Assist with Events, administration of acquittals and stocktaking if required. Report issues as they present. Spot clean as necessary to aid Centre presentation.
Essential requirements
- Demonstrated experience in the hospitality industry/Local Government
- Current NSW Class C Driver's Licence or above or equivalent.

Condition of employment
- Salary Range of $37.43 to $41.17 per hour, based on experience.
- Satisfactory health assessment, drug and alcohol screening, police and working with children check is a pre-requisite to an offer of employment.
- Appointment to the position will be in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award and Council’s salary structure.
