About the role

In this role you will

  • ensure that service related to Council’s Minor Plant, Major Plant, Light Fleet and Heavy Fleet is carried out effectively, efficiently, safely and in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications
  • assist in the provision of a minor plant service for Council’s works (Grade T)

You will also attend TAFE and pass all modules within the course satisfactorily and follow instructions from senior mechanics and supervisor on how to be a tradesperson at a high standard.

Position requirements

  • Class C Drivers Licence
  • Year 10 Certificate (minimum)

About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is passionate about mechanics.  You will have good communication skills, enjoy working in a team environment and have a willingness to learn.  You will need to attend TAFE and pass all modules satisfactorily, you will also be expected to follow instructions from the supervisor and senior mechanics.

You will be expected to work in both the mechanical workshop and field operations environment and will be required to visit other Council premises or related business premises to conduct your role.   You will be required to work a 9 day fortnight with a Rostered Day Off with the hours of work being generally 6:00am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday.
