About the Role
You will be an integral part of City of Ryde enhancing the local economy whilst supporting businesses to grow and thrive. Your ability to build connections with overseas counterparts, external agencies and collaborate internally to drive economic development is essential for this role. You will be the key contact for investors, developers, strategic economic partners; working on strategic programs, plans and projects whilst aligning with community needs.
You will be able to make this role your own, bringing a fresh approach to the way we work with the community and drive high value initiatives. Leading the Economic Development team, you will drive high performance, operational efficiency and service for the business.
About You
You will have a data driven mindset to make effective decisions whilst reporting on trends and performance for City of Ryde. You will bring your customer-focussed approach to generate positive growth outcomes for the community of Ryde. Your experience in Economic Development focusing on building networks and relationships will be instrumental for this role.
In addition, you will also have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as economics, finance, commerce, business, or equivalent industry experience.
- 10+ years' experience in economic development, investment attraction, or business strategy-preferably in a government or urban development context.
- Extensive experience in the development, implementation and ongoing review of economic strategies and related action plans, discussion papers, evaluation frameworks and strategic advice based on rigorous research, consultation, sector knowledge and analysis.
