Camden Council's Civil Construction and Maintenance Branch is seeking a motivated and experienced Program Manager - Civil Engineering to oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of civil construction projects and maintenance programs. This leadership role will manage a high-performing team responsible for maintaining and enhancing Council's infrastructure assets across the local government area. You will provide strategic oversight to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and community benefit.

Essential:

  • Industry recognised qualification in any of Project/Program Management, Contract Management, Civil Engineering, or extensive experience in a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in the management, programming and delivering of civil roads and stormwater drainage infrastructure projects.
  • Strong ability to plan, coordinate, and manage competing project demands to achieve objectives
  • Proven experience in contract management and procurement and financial oversight of external consultants and contractors.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking abilities.
  • Demonstrated capacity to make sound decisions and effectively manage competing demands in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong negotiation abilities and experience supervising and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable:

  • Demonstrated ability to review processes, procedures and systems to contribute to the improvement of program and project delivery outcomes
  • Relevant experience in program management in a Local Government context
  • Working knowledge of NSW Roads Act and Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, Protection of Environmental Operations POEO)
