Traineeships Available

 

  • Administration Officer D&E - You will be working as you learn everything from day-to-day operations and business functions through to high-level strategic development and environmental planning while undertaking training and formal study towards a Certificate III in Business.

 

  • Airport Operations Officer - Are you ready for your career to take-off? The Dubbo Regional Airport is a major gateway to our region, and in this role you will be focusing on all aspects of airport operations including aerodrome reporting duties while working towards a Certificate IV in Aviation.

 

  • Customer Experience Officer - You will be working with a dynamic team providing a wide range of services and advice across our community while gaining a deep understanding of Council’s core operations. You will also complete a Certificate III in Business.

 

  • Finance- You will be working (and earning!) as you learn everything from day-to-day finance operations and business functions through to high-level strategic financial planning while undertaking training and formal study towards a Certificate III in Financial Services.

 

  • Human Resources - You will be working with a dynamic, supportive and friendly team at one of the region’s largest and most diverse employers, launching your career in human resources while undertaking a Certificate IV in Human Resource Management.

 

  • Information Technology - You will be working as you learn everything from day-to-day IT operations and business functions through to high-level strategic IT planning while undertaking training and formal study towards a Certificate IV in Information Technology.

 

  • Procurement- Dubbo Regional Council is a large organisation that relies on local and national suppliers to help us deliver for the community. You will be working with the procurement team to effectively and efficiently purchase goods and services while completing a Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting.

 

  • Tourism - An exciting opportunity to work alongside our tourism team and the public in promoting Dubbo, Wellington and surrounding villages as destinations of choice for visitors, all while undertaking formal training towards a Certificate III in Tourism.

 

  • Waste Collection Administration Officer - Our waste and recycling facilities are at the forefront of contemporary waste management best practice, and we want you to help us take it to the next level. You will learn about waste management, including the circular economy, while completing a Certificate III in Business.

 

  • Waste Collection Attendant - Our waste and recycling facilities are at the forefront of contemporary waste management operations, and we want you to help us take it to the next level. You will learn about waste management, including the circular economy, while completing a Certificate III in Waste Management.

 

  • Welder - Saleyards - You will support the service and maintenance of a wide range of infrastructure at the Dubbo Regional Livestock Markets which is NSW’s busiest yards by cattle throughput. You will also be undertaking hands-on training and formal study towards a Certificate II in Engineering.

What you'll bring

To thrive in these roles, you will need:

  • Willingness to learn and commit to a structured traineeship program.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.

  • Strong work ethic, reliability and punctuality.

  • For outdoor roles, White card (General Construction Induction Certificate) or be willing to obtain one prior to commencement.

  • NSW Drivers Licence.

The salary for this position will be paid at Trainee Rates dependent upon competency level and in accordance with Council’s Salary Policy and the Local Government (State) Award 2023.
