Position Overview

Our Civil Design Engineer will play a pivotal role within the Directorate of Community Assets, engaging in the design and documentation of civil engineering projects, particularly focusing on road and stormwater infrastructure. This position requires a high level of technical proficiency and the ability to work collaboratively within a team to deliver projects that align with the Council's Annual Plan and budget.

As our Civil Design Engineer, you will undertake various responsibilities including:

  • conducting engineering investigations
  • developing concept and detailed designs, and
  • preparing necessary documentation for procurement processes.

You will also lend your expertise to support the assessment of development applications and respond to various customer service requests.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated professional who possesses a strong background in civil engineering design and project management.  

You will need the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in civil engineering design and documentation, preferably within local government or a related sector.
  • Proficiency in CAD, 3D modelling, and drainage design software.
  • In-depth knowledge of subdivision land development design principles.

You will need to demonstrate exceptional problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A collaborative spirit and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes are essential for success in this role.
