About the Role

As a City of Ryde Parking Ranger, you will be committed to supporting our residents and businesses by investigating complaints, undertaking beat patrols to educate and regulate instances of illegal parking. In addition, you will be responsible for the education and enforcement of illegal parking in and around School Zones in the Ryde LGA.

You will have strong customer service, communication, dispute resolution and negotiation skills. Be competent preparing memos and reports as well as preparing a court brief and giving evidence at court hearings as and when required.

This is a permanent, full-time position (38 hours per week), working Monday to Friday across five days.


About You

  • Professional and pleasant manner when dealing with the public.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Able to remain calm in conflict situations and manage enforcement issues with tact and discretion.
  • Physically able to walk for long periods of a day whilst working in an outdoors environment.
  • Previous experience in a parking enforcement or similar compliance type role
  • Strong understand of smart parking technology.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Well-developed written communication skills
  • Current NSW driver's licence
  • Working with children check
  • Completion of year 12 High School studies, a TAFE course in Business or similar, or Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) will be well regarded but is not essential.


Your commencing annual salary will range from $64,354.77 to $83,661.20 + Superannuation + leaseback, dependent on your experience and qualifications.
