Employment Status: Permanent, full-time.
Employment Arrangement: 35 hours per week with access to Council’s Agile Work Policy.
Salary Range Commencing from $77,877.80 (Grade 12, Step 1) plus 11.5% Superannuation. The successful candidate will have access to step increases based on competency assessment and tenure within the position.
Council Overview
Strathfield Council (Council) is a medium sized Council located in Sydney’s Inner West. The area of the Council comprises approximately 14 square kilometres and has an estimated population of 46,000 residents, which is growing at 2.5-3% annually. Based on NSW Government projections, the population will increase to over 80,000 by 2036.
About the Role
Strathfield Council is seeking a fill a vacant position in our Planning & Place team, working as Business Support, Planning & Place on a full time, permanent basis.
The purpose of this position is to provide corporate administrative support to the Planning & Place team at an effective, professional, and efficient standard.

About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Certificate III in Business Administration or higher and/or relevant work experience in a similar environment.
- Good communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills relevant to the position with experience providing quality customer service.
- Good time management, planning and organisational skills.
- Good literacy, numeracy, and keyboard skills.
- Demonstrated ability to research and draft replies to correspondence, reports, and other such documentation with regular direction.
- Ability to effectively operate Council’s computer systems including Authority and CM10.
- Proficient in the use of the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Knowledge and experience within Local Government and the Planning Industry (DESIRABLE)
