About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced People & Culture Advisor to join us on a permanent basis.

The City of Ryde is a modern local government organisation with a workforce of over 500 employees who deliver a wide range of vital services to our community. The focus of your role will be to provide administrative support to the wider P&C team, as well as advice to managers and staff across a range of functions including recruitment, interpretation of Legislation, Award conditions, project work, salary grading and best practice HR initiatives.

You will have the opportunity to support the team in a variety of special projects and in implementing the programs, policies, and work practices that resulted in us being recognised as an Employer of Choice in the Australian Business Awards.


About You

You are a dynamic HR practitioner who enjoys working with key stakeholders in the delivery of operational People and Culture activities. You possess strong organisation skills, excellent attention to detail, and have the ability to communicate effectively and provide sound advice across all levels of the business.

In addition you will also have:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management or demonstrated relevant experience
  • Track record of achievement as a HR Advisor/Coordinator/Officer with a strong background in managing recruitment and providing high quality and efficient administrative HR support
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in the interpretation/application of Legislation, Awards, Agreements and HR policies and procedures
  • Experience in an organisation with a multi-faceted workforce that includes a great mix of white and blue collar staff including technical specialists, customer service, office and trades/outdoor operations staff
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with proven ability to build strong working relationships with Business Managers and staff
  • Excellent written communication skills with proven experience preparing a wide range of HR documentation
  • Excellent level of PC skills (MS Office including word, excel reporting, PowerPoint, MS Teams and SharePoint), and ideally CHRIS 21/iChris HRIS experience
Your commencing annual salary will range from $80,760 to $97,664 per annum + Superannuation, dependent on your experience and qualifications.
