Foreshore Animal Compliance Officer

We are looking for someone with excellent customer service skills who has experience in animal handling (dogs, cats and livestock) in a regulatory role. This position is responsible for educating and regulating the community regarding responsible pet ownership and animal control in public places including our foreshore and beaches.
Salary up to $47.32 per hour plus superannuation penalty rates for weekends, and an on-call allowance may apply as outlined in our employment policy & procedures. This position consists of 28 hours per week including weekends. An operational vehicle is provided to travel to and from work when on call. (Salary will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications)
What do you need to be successful in this role?
This position require a dynamic individual who can demonstrate:
- An ability in handling animals, including microchip scanning, and seizing of stray animals (including dogs, cats and roaming livestock).
- An understanding of the requirements of handling aggressive dogs.
- A calm outlook with excellent conflict resolution skills and the ability to work with difficult customers.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and work with others.
- The ability to problem-solve and work with minimal supervision.
- A high level of written and oral communication skills.
