As an Assistant Gardener, you'll play a vital role in contributing to maintaining and improving horticultural and open spaces in Wellington NSW. Your physical fitness and love for the outdoors allows you to provide high quality horticultural services for the region and community where you live. Working within a supportive team you'll achieve a better balance, where your career and life outside work matters.
You'll work with a great team to:
- Provide beneficial and cost efficient horticultural and grass maintenance services
- Ensure the implementation of Council's asset maintenance policy and related procedures and documentation
- Undertake other horticultural maintenance and construction tasks as required
What you'll bring
To thrive in this role, you will need:
- Demonstrated experience and skills in operating horticultural related large and small plant such as tractors, large specialised mowing machinery, ‘whipper snippers’, chainsaws, edgers, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to work constructively in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Experience in undertaking other horticultural related tasks with minimal supervision or unsupervised
- Demonstrated understanding and ability to manage workplace safety when undertaking horticultural related activities.
We would also love you to have:
- Class MR Drivers Licence
- AQF 3 Chemical Handling accreditation

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $57,826 to $67,203.
