SALARY: $2,146.73 - 2,459.38 pw + Super

Work Type: Temporary Full-Time for up to 5 years

This is an opportunity to work as part of a team delivering a multi-million-dollar program of major road upgrade and infrastructure projects in a rapidly changing growth precinct. These complex and varied long term projects mainly involve redeveloping rural roads and infrastructure to be suitable the future urban environment but also include new road and infrastructure projects. You will use your project management experience to manage and lead design consultants and contractors to ensure projects meet community expectations. Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, or other relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare project briefs and manage procurement of external consultants and contractors for major civil road projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing civil design consultant teams to deliver designs which are completed on time and are within the construction budget.
  • Extensive experience at a senior level in project management of large and complex civil projects from inception to completion.
  • Demonstrated high level contract management skills for both design and construction contracts.
  • Demonstrated high level of analytical, creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills including written and oral and the ability to relate well to internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work within and to foster team cooperation and achievement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications.

Desirable:

  • Good negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
  • Understanding of community consultation required for major projects.
  • Local government or similar experience.

To meet Council's WHS requirements and in accordance with Council's Covid-19 Safety Plans, this position has been identified via risk assessment to be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or provide evidence of an approved medical contraindication. If a medical contraindication certificate is provided, it will be assessed against a risk assessment and the decision of whether Council accepts the medical contraindication certificate, will be based on operational needs.
