The Library Service operates across five branches including Ryde, North Ryde, Eastwood, West Ryde and Gladesville as well as a significant online library. About the Role

We are seeking a highly creative and experienced people leader to join the Library Leadership Team to lead and develop the library's marketing and diverse outreach programs.

We are looking for someone with a passion for community engagement and program development, experience in marketing, digital marketing and communications strategies, skills in leading a dynamic and effective team and the ability to collaborate and implement change.

The library operates in a team environment in which the Library Resource and Technology, Library Operations, and Library Programs and Marketing teams work together to achieve the objectives and initiatives outlined in the library plan.

Your commencing salary would range from $105,441.39 - $129,165.70 per annum + superannuation, dependant on the skills, qualifications, and relevant experience of the suitable candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, develop and evaluate a vibrant program of library activities and outreach that enhances the cultural, educational, recreational and information needs for a diverse community
  • Lead and develop effective marketing and communication strategies for the City of Ryde Libraries including development and managing of the social media assets to grow our online presence and engagement with community
  • Provide a consistent and recognisable library identity and voice, editorial, graphic, and web style to ensure City of Ryde Libraries is a recognisable brand
  • Manage, develop and lead a cohesive Library Programs and Marketing Team including staff supervision, training and development, coordinating the team's key responsibilities, managing team workload, and assigned projects
  • Develop and manage the Library's outreach and services in Community Information, Local Studies, Home Library Service, Multicultural and Children and Youth.
  • Implement the community engagement plan and marketing plan for the City of Ryde Libraries
  • Drive an increase in library membership and library usage at the branches and online
  • Undertake a regular process of review, evaluation and reporting of all programs, exhibitions, events and marketing outcomes
  • Develop and maintain partnerships, including the library volunteer program
  • Contribute to business planning and overall policy direction within the Library Service
  • Manage the budget and resources allocated to the specialist area
Key Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications or Marketing or a related discipline appropriate to the position with experience in Library Services or Cultural Development. Or a Library and Information Degree with demonstrable skills in the requirements of the role.
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Class C Drivers Licence
