About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for an Open Space Planner to join our City Spaces department at Ryde.
The City of Ryde is undergoing rapid growth particularly in the Macquarie Park Innovation District. This provides once in a generation opportunity to develop fantastic open space outcomes for the City of Ryde.
Working as part of a small, committed team, you will lead the development of open space master plans, strategies, and plans of management. Ensuring Council managed public spaces meet the current and future community needs across the Ryde LGA. To achieve your outcomes, you will build strong links with internal stakeholders, community groups and relevant business groups in developing plans and strategies for the management and future development of public open space areas.
This position provides an opportunity for you to develop your career in a role that has an interesting mix of strategic input, policy development, project delivery and community liaison.
Key Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture, Open Space planning, Parks & Recreation Management, Environmental Science, or demonstrated experience in a similar discipline.
- Experience in the development of plans and policies regarding public open space.
- Experience in the management of a non-capital projects, including ensuring deliverables are met to time and within budget.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with experience building positive relationships, negotiating outcomes, and consulting with community groups.
- Knowledge of current trends in open space planning, design, and management.
- Strong teamwork skills.
