THE OPPORTUNITY

We have an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated individual to join our team as Property Development Officer, cultivating the development and growth of our community. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the success of Council's land development activities and managing property development transactions. Strong organisational skills are essential in this role, as you will be responsible for managing a variety of tasks and priorities.

Excellent customer service is important in this role, as you’ll be engaging and supporting internal and external stakeholders, including providing advice to Council's Property and Land Development branch (PALD) regarding potential development opportunities and general property matters relating to Council-owned and/ or Council-controlled land.

 

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing advice on the land development strategy, new development opportunities and general development matters
  • Managing strategic development partnerships and joint ventures to support positive economic outcomes
  • Evaluating and recommending acquisition and development opportunities 
  • Preparing correspondence and documentation to various internal and external stakeholders, legal counsel, executives and Councillors regarding property and land matters

 

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate for this role is characterised by a combination of key qualities and qualifications. You are a highly organised professional, with a background in administration, property management, law and / or local government.

Excellent communication and top-tier customer service skills are a must, ensuring that you can effectively engage with various stakeholders. Being a team player is essential, as you will collaborate closely with colleagues and external partners.

Your ability to thrive under deadlines and effectively prioritise tasks is vital for success in this position. Additionally, a proven track record in a property-related field will demonstrate your capability to excel in this role. 

 

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE

  • Bachelor Degree in either Land Economics, Town Planning, Civil Engineering, Project Management or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in property development and project management
  • High level organisational skills with demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects and adhering to deadlines
  • Highly developed planning and negotiation skills
