About the Role
Working as part of a professional engineering team, you will play an essential role in assisting with the management of Council's roads, stormwater drainage, footpaths, car parks and civil assets. You will be responsible for providing high level technical advice to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders related to Council's civil infrastructure, stormwater drainage and roads.

You will contribute to the assessment of development applications, design drawings and assist in the preparation of project briefs, programs and reports that are related to Capital Works Programs undertaken by Council's City Works Directorate.

Please note internally this position is known as Stormwater Engineer

About You
You are a suitably qualified Civil Engineer with preferably a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar Civil Engineer related position. You are an effective communicator and problem solver who is adept at developing and maintaining good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders whilst continuing to ensure a high standard of advice is provided and good outcomes for the community are achieved.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to use your civil engineering knowledge and skills in a supportive team environment. You will also gain invaluable exposure to a wide range of engineering practices as a member of the City Works Directorate.

In addition, you will also have:
  • Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Demonstrated experience in roads, civil infrastructure and stormwater design, construction and maintenance.
  • Experience in the development approval process, particularly in the assessment of development applications from a stormwater and floodplain risk management perspective
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing high quality letters, reports and responses to technical queries.
  • High level of computer literacy with MS applications and engineering applications, particularly with asset data collection
  • High level interpersonal skills with experience facilitating meetings and managing internal/external customer expectations.
  • Class C Drivers Licence

Your commencing annual salary will range from $96,291.38 to $106,990.43 + Superannuation + 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance, dependent on your experience and qualifications.
