Our City Works team is looking for a self-motivated, hardworking
and experienced individual to fill the position of Plant Operator.
The role involves undertaking construction and maintenance of the
City’s roads, car parks, drainage and shared paths
infrastructure in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner and
to agreed quality standards.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience in road, car park, drainage and shared path
construction
- Practical experience with the operation of road
construction equipment, tools and plant
- Roller Operator’s Accreditation Certificate
- Loader Operator’s Accreditation Certificate
- Tracked Skid Steer Operators Accreditation Certificate
- Current unrestricted “HR” (Heavy Rigid) class
national driver’s licence
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Knowledge of safe operation and user maintenance of plant,
equipment and heavy vehicles
- Team player
- Literacy and numerical skills
- Ability to operate electronic devices, such as smartphones
and tablets
In addition to the above, the following will be highly
regarded:
- Current certificate in Basic Worksite Traffic Management
(desirable)
- Current Traffic Controller accreditation (desirable)
- Chainsaw Operator Ticket (desirable)
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable)
- Excavator and Watercart Ticket (desirable)
- As part of our recruitment process, you will be required to
participate in a full pre-employment medical that includes drug
and alcohol testing.
The finer details
This fulltime Level 3 position attracts a salary range of
$72,795 - $75,503 gross per annum dependent on qualifications and
experience.
